Boulevard wheat

Ahhhhh...

Ohhh ahhhh

35,000 feet up somewhere between Houston and KC.

Flying solo

The good news is I found a ride to the airport this morning.

The not as good news is I'm here three hours before my flight.

I'm checked in so I decided to grab an overpriced fast food meal at
the airport.

I've got 12 episodes of family guy on my phone to keep me busy.

For those who don't know, I'm flying home for a weekend of football,
Then my brothers wedding next weekend.

I'll try to keep this blog posted with stuff from the trip.

Go!!!

I'm shooting a swim meet today. It's about 65 degrees and breezy. Not
quite swimming weather.

By no means am I a swimming coach, but I find it funny how the only
thing the coaches say during a race is... "go!!" or "come on
lindsey..GO!!!"

As a swimmer, if I heard that over and over during a race I'd be
thinking "where the hell do you want me to go? Into the other lane?"

There's a coach who paces the side of the pool and every time his
swimmer takes a breath he yells "go!"

Oh well. Swimming is awesome to shoot. And here in a bit I'm going to
have some awesome light so I'm pretty excited about that.

I think I'll hit up the concession stand now during the 6 heats of the
500 freestyle. Quite possibly the most boring event ever.

GO!!

We need Patches O'Houlihan

If you can dodge traffic, you can dodge a ball.

Houma formed an Adult Dodge Ball league and the courier has a team. Ok, so we haven't won a game yet (0-2) but it sure is a lot of fun.

Last week, I was able to throw kickballs at Houma Police Officers. Tonight, I nailed a Louisiana State Representative.

We play once a week, and it's just like the playground from back in the day. If you get hit, you're out. If you catch a ball, the thrower is out and a teammate can come back in. You can use the ball to block throws.

It's great fun... and you break quite a sweat during the 30 minute match.

Check this out to get a better idea.

One Year... kind of

Today kind of marked the one year point of me running. I started keeping track of my runs on Sept. 10, 2007.

Throughout the year, I planned on doing a big post on the exact one year of my return to running, but that didn't happen thanks to Gustav and Ike. (those punks!)

So, you get the one-year update on the One Year, One Month and Five Day anniversary.

Here are some one year stats...

99: Total number of runs

294.22: Total number of miles run

9:54: Average mile pace

5.77 miles: Longest run

8:30-something: Fastest mile. (some of the stats Nike keeps are not there anymore for some reason)

11/30/07: Date I reached 100 miles

40.16: Miles run in Nov. 07. Most of any month.

42,960: Total number of calories burned (not sure how accurate that really is)

2 days: Total running time

And good luck to dad this Sunday as he runs a marathon in Des Moines, Iowa. I about passed out after my 1.5 mile run this morning. And he's about to knock out 23 miles.

I'll leave you with a photo from last night. Misty tipped me off to some guys replacing windows at Terrebonne High School. So I stopped by and hung out with them for a while. This picture won't be in the paper, but I thought it was cool... kind of creepy too.

No more cheese

Holy cow has it been a month??

Nabil said he was getting anxious to read a post. I kind of lost track
of this blog after the storms.

So here's a quick shot of some high school football. Terrebonne at
vandebilt catholic... Homecoming. On the first play from scrimmage,
ths went 68 yards for the td.

Not that anybody cares about ether school, just thought it was neat.
(and I didn't get a pic because it went away from me.)

Time to get back to grooving to the blistering flute solo!! I mean
drum solo, but wouldn't that be neat if the flutes did get a solo?
