Some people just don't get it.

As I left my house this morning to go to my assignment, my roommate asked what I was going to shoot.

"I'm heading to shoot a Cub Scout Pack's pinewood derby," I said.

"Oh, that sucks," he replied.

He just doesn't get it. Not only did I compete in my fair share of pinewood derby's as a Cub Scout, but I also saw the potential for awesome pictures. Sure, it's not the most sexy event to cover but who cares?! Just because it's not a high profile game doesn't make the pictures any less interesting to look at. It's this hometown journalism that makes this job so much fun.
